RTI to reveal medical admission under management quota

Station Public Information Officer NTR Health Univeristy

Hi!

I came across the situation where every medical/dental college  is demanding lakhs and lakhs of rupees for management quota seats.

They do not fallow any guide lines.

I have encountered this situation with NTR health University , Andhra Pradesh.

There are very less number of merit quota seats .

They do not look at the facilities the colleges are providing.

Can any one suggest me what is the best way to file RTI on this.

If you can file RTI on this drafting the application properly , i am very happy.

I will refund in the form of Donation.
REMEMBER THERE ARE BIG PEOPLE INVOLVED AND THERE IS THREAT FROM THEM.

Thanks And Regards,

Sravan Vurapalli

thru Management Seats a college can demand more and govt. dont have any control over it..

But the number of Management Seats is decided by govt.

Some times the merit seats not filled can be treated as management seats..

      Hey Sky Walker!

I am confused by statement :thru Management Seats a college can demand more and govt. dont have any control over .

Does it mean colleges go any amount as they wish as far as candidate are there ?

Is this based on any of your previous experiences ?

As per my conversation with PIO , he said that they have guide lines to control that.

I can sense your concern in this regards..

I have few questions to you before taking this for drafting..

I guess your query is specific to a college

    1) What is the name of the college ?

    2) Information you are looking for should be restricted to some time period, say in the Academic Year 2010, 2011

    3) If you are keen about getting the facility details, its better to seek it in a separate application.

  4. Sky Walker says:

I Agree. Govt have some control.

They can specify the criteria to be met by the candidate

Also, They can specify the fee for management Seats

But, they cannot specify the selection procedure for management quota, the college management decides on the candidate.. Therefore if someone wants to avail this management quota they have to please the management of the college. Which is nothing but a hefty payment ( some college even give receipt as donation towards their trust )

They have restrictions to Management seats but they dont control over the choice

    Hi Sky Walker!

Do you have any suggestions on handling this better ?

Yes, as you mentioned, it is better to take facilities part in separate application.

But, one thing is pitching in my heart, is it mistake on my part being a middle a class person with no reservation.

Is this the democracy we are living in ?

    Education is a right.
    It cannot be a business.

    • Sky Walker says:

But you have to accept the fact that some capitalist countries like US have made education a business and India is slowly turning to that model..

      Its not good for India..

Many patients die because of doctors who got thier degree via management seats.. similar is the case for all departments..

    Ok,

What is the final call on this ?
