Decline in Corruption in Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) Across Uttar Pradesh
As a part of the Justice for Sangh Priya Rahul Campaign (the RTI Anonymous activist who was assaulted by RTO Officers in Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh for fighting corruption on behalf of a victimized whistle blower who had approached RTI Anonymous for help), due to relentless campaign against corruption in Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) across Uttar Pradesh (UP) by RTI Anonymous, the Transport Commissioner of UP has ordered that all dealings in the RTOs will be through windows out in the open instead of inside closed rooms where bribes are given and taken and where most of the corruption happens.
This order hasn’t yet been implemented. RTI Anonymous will keep a closed watch on its implementation. We at RTI Anonymous believe that even if it is implemented only to some extent and only in some of the RTOs, it is a big advancement for us on our front in the War against Corruption.
