Since independence same families or firms r continuing to run Railways stalls (outlets) throughout India, many owning more than one such stalls, on number of locations and r sublet on very high monthly premium, though on paper the sublet contractor is shown as managers. Why Rly’s fail to periodically invite new tenders to give chance to new people especially young graduates.

1. Subject Matter: .Particulars of information required. Furnish details of Stalls (Outlets) on all railway platforms, yards and other premises that are under jurisdiction of railways.
2. Description of information required. Please furnish the following particulars and copies of relevant records:
a. What is total number of food catering stalls (Canteen ), Medicine stalls, Book stalls, fruit stalls and other miscellaneous stalls respectively that is run by Railways themselves on present date ?
b. What is total number of food catering stalls (Canteen ), Medicine stalls, Book stalls, fruit stalls and other miscellaneous stalls respectively that is run by private Contractors appointed by Railways as on present date ?
c. What is total number of such private Contractors that are running all such stalls continuously since 1st January 1961 till 31st December. 2011 in Mumbai suburban stations region ?
d. Give in tabular form names of all private contractors in Mumbai suburban stations region as on present date who are allotted food catering stalls (Canteen ), Medicine stalls, Book stalls, fruit stalls and other miscellaneous stalls , location of station where they are allotted stalls, present rent collected and year when they were first allotted stalls to at Mumbai suburban station regions ?
e. Give names of all private contractors in Mumbai suburban stations region as on present date who are allotted more than one any of the following stalls like food catering stalls (Canteen ), Medicine stalls, Book stalls, fruit stalls and other miscellaneous stalls and also give location of station of all such multiple stalls run by same contractor or firm ?
f . Give locations of all stalls in Mumbai suburban station region that are run by railways .
g. If any court stay orders has being delivered preventing Railways from inviting fresh tenders, please furnish copy of such order.
h. Furnish details of appeal pending against any such stay order as mention in above clause ‘e’.
