Model Engineering College
I am a student of Govt Model Engineering College, Thrikkakara, Cochin. The college has substandard infrastructure and the upkeep is very pathetic. There is a mens hostel for the college and there is no cleanliness at all that it is no longer be suitable for living. Ever since the building was built it was never painted nor cleaned. Everyone wants to file an RTI application as we are sure that there must be funds allocated for the upkeep and maintenance of mens hostel/infrastructure but we are afraid that he/she who files the application will be hunted down. The college is run by Institute of Human Resource Development for Electronics, IHRDE (now IHRD) and the there are lots of staff unions which has most of the powers. So I request you to kindly filee an RTI application so as to get the details of fund allocated to the college and its expenditure as soon as possible

You need to be specific on certain points:
1. What do you want to ask. Please put specific questions.
2.Find out the Public information officer of your college, or the appropriate govt. department.
You can refer to other RTI Applications, which have been filed through RTIA.
I suggest you first file a complaint with College Principal, & Chief Secretary to Education Minister.
Wait for 2 weeks.
Shoot a RTI Application asking for
1) filenotings on the files related to complaints related college hostel
2) Minutes of the meeting in which this topic was discussed
3) All the communication( orders passed, emails, letters etc) regarding improving the conditions of college after complaints
