The rules highlighted in the document below (which shows rules of the Madhya Pradesh Protocol for State Guests) clearly show that visits can be funded from the State Treasury if and only if it “pertains to affairs of the State Government” and if “it is intimately connected with the affairs of the State” and “it is in the interest of the State”, none of which was applicable to visit to the wedding of son of Principal Secretary (Law) Mr. Ashok Kumar in December 2010 by the Judges.

Action should be taken on those who extended the favour.May be, their visit was personal and they had the impression that arrangement was by the host and not the State. State government's intentions might have been of flattering guests so as to win favour. The RTI activist has done a commendable job.

  16. Ranjeet Kumar says:

Ordinary people have already lost trusting even from the "Temple of Justice", the Courts. There were/are several stories of this kind, the RTI Act is only exposing them to public with documentary evidences. Here the right punishment is missing because of the absence of the strong anti-corruption law like the Janlokpal.

  17. Dr.Sunanda Dhenge says:

  22. ravela_sankar says:

After seeing this RTI expose, how can we expect strict criminal contempt proceedings any senior IAS officer who didn’t comply High Court’s order? No judge of these qualities will initiate CONTEMPT PROCEEDINGS against the erring officers. The senior officers are extending their full hospitality even to the wifes of the judges with the honest tax-payers money.

    • Anand - RTI Anonymous (Director - Overseas Operations) says:
