Pay protection clause for defence personnel as bank clerk in baking sector.

PIO SBI HQ Mumbai

Hello everybody,

There is a provision of pay-protection clause for defence personnel, joining as bank clerk in banking sector, which has got a lot of ambiguity in the sense that what would be the payment of a defence personnel after retirement, in the bank, on joining it.  Sixth pay commission has included a lot of elements in the pay structure of defence personnel like MSP(military service pay), classification pay, Grade Pay, Technical pay, GCB (Good  Conduct Badge pay) etc.

I wanted to know before joining bank as to what would be my pay in totality, once I join back, keeping in mind the protection pay clause. Though seeking information may invite the ire of banking industry, and it could result in non-selection finally, hence seeking your help.  Annexed below, pl find my pay under different heads in defence. (allowances are not mentioned).

Pay in band – 10670

Grade Pay – 2800

MSP – 2000

GCB + Classification Pay – 540

DA – 8973

Say, I join SBI in Mumbai. Based on this city, may I know

(a)    How would my payment be fixed?

(b)   What all elements be included in fixing my pay, from the above heads?

(c)    What are the allowances of bank being paid to a bank clerk? Elaborate it?

(d)   What are the present rates of these allowances?

(e) Off late, I heard that SBI, through a circular, has included MSP (Military Service Pay) in fixing the payment of an ex defence personnel joining as bank clerk.  How far this information is authenticated? If such a circular exists, may I get a copy of it?

(f)   What would be my total emoluments, based on my defence payment + bank allowances?

Draft an application in this regard for the ex-servicemen community and file it.

Kindly following information may be provided:
My father was in army and he retired from army in 1973.Then he joined civil service in army as a civilion. He also retired from this civil service in 1985.Accordingly he got two pensions ie. one from army and another from civil side.My father was expired in 1999, after that my mother is getting family pension from army side only (one pension).
I want to know whether my mother is entitled to get second pension (family pension) or not ie. from civil side as my father got two pensions, one from army service and another from civil service.
    Thanking You.

What have u done so far for second pension to ur mother? Write to pension dept of civilians available at Army record office. For correct info, visit the office where ur father served last and they would guide ur properly in this regard.
