Repair of NH 26 of Andhra odisha Border
The National HighwayNo 26 passes through Andhra – Odisha-Chattisgarh.The condition of the road beginning from Odisha portion(from the Andhra-Odisha Border) of the highway is in a pathetic state. especially the part connecting Sunki to Surli . If the repair of Road is not taken up before the ensuing Monsoon, there is an every chance of closing down of the Andhra-Orissa Border.Information to be sought- 1)Whether any contractor is engaged in the repair-work 2) If so why there has been no progress 3) If he is not taking up the Work, whether he has been suspended and whether another Contractor is currently involved 4)Is there any Time Limit for finishing of work.5)Why the same NH-26 passing through states of Andhra as well as Chattisgarh is in good condition whereas the Odisha portion is in very bad shape 6) Whether the contractors engaged for the repair of NH-26 of Odisha portion are not competent,if so, why the contractors who are engaged for Andhra or Chattisgarh portion are not being engaged for repair of the Odisha portion7)To the best of my knowledge only about 10 kms length of road is very bad and it may take hardly about 10 to 15 days for the repair ,if a competent contractor is engaged.
We have filed a PIL Case No-13378/2012 before the Hon’ble High Court of Orissa .Our prayer to issue notices to NHAI to take up the repair at the earliest.
