water connection inquiry

Dear Sir,                                                  Date: 31/10/2011
             I would like to have information for getting BIS license for filling purify water into1/1/2 litres plastics bottles for a local consumption in proper bombay for hotels and malls in small way by getting water supply from tankers and not from BMC water connection.
            Does the BIS Govt authority gives permission and licesnse No. for such kind of water receveid from tankers and we purify it and fill it up in bottles of 1 litre or smaller one. If this is possible by law then I can start my business in proper Bombay between Andheri to Borivali.
           Please co-operate and provide with rules and regulations for such kind of water filling plant by BIS.Can you provide me with any website of BIS laws and regulations and application please provide me

    Dear Lalit,

    Your request comes under the purview of RTI Act 2005

    But we feel that the request submitted by you, does not need you to be anonymous and hence we do not perceive any threat to you in filing this RTI Application.
    To file this RTI Application you need to send postal order worth Rs. 35 (Rs 10 as fees for processing the application and Rs 25 as speed post charges of the reply) along with your RTI Application to the given address.

    Alternately, you can also email us your phone number and location of where you are based in India (at rtia-usa@getup4change.org ) We can request, one of our RTI activists to contact you personally and see if they can help you, in their personal capacity

    If however you feel that there is threat involved in filing the application yourself, please do inform us about the same and the RTI Anonymous Team will file this RTI Application for you.

    RTI Anonymous is an organization, meant to protect and shield RTI Requestors/Activists, who are threatened with physical harm.

    Also, I would like to mention here that the information you are requesting is already available to public in official gadgets or notifications released by relevant department or govt. agency. Please check and it may not need an RTI application to file.
