Are you aware of the fact that almost no registration of property is done in the property registrar offices without giving a bribe? They are being given bribe by some or other mechanism via 2nd or 3rd parties, otherwise persons coming for registration are made to run from here to there.By paying bribes, there are manipulations also being done in the stamp duties and other payables.There is a nexus between builders, their agents and registry officials.The registar posts are also sold at high premium for the same reason.

Is there any mechanism in the Government to monitor the activities in the registry office and to catch hold of such corrupt officials in the property registration offices, so that common man is not harrased and exploited?

Is there a mechanism of taking anonymous feedbacks from persons registering any property, to gather more information about the conduct of registrars and other officials.Is there any freely and instant available grievance redressal mechanism for all persons coming for registrations at that time itself ?

If not why?

    So long as there are bribe givers, there will be bribe takers. Why pay bribe? If you are aware of the rules and regulations for the registration of properties, the Registrar cannot make u run here & there. Now every thing is available in the website of departments. May be once or twice he may put some queries to be complied by you. The compliance of the queries give you some experience with which you can educate others.

    In yesterday’s local news paper there was a news that an arrest warrant was issued against a registrar and also a Dy. collector stamp duty VADODARA.for not giving registered stamp to applicant.This was issued by a consumer court.So people must awake and take actions against these elements.My own experience is that the revenue department in Gujarat doesn’t care about RTI.I have filed 3 RTI application First appeal and a complain to GIC also.
