(1) Who has taken the decision that PhD students of IIT Kharagpur who have taken admission in PhD through projects should be denied accommodation in Halls of Residence? Kindly provide the details as well as copy of this order.
(2) Why are project PhD students who wish to live in halls but are denied this, asked to fill up a form for taking permission to stay outside from Dean of Students’ Affairs and the Chairman HMC when they are being denied hall accommodation against their wishes?
(3) Why is hall fee charged from all those students (M.Tech., PhD. etc.) who live outside the halls of residence?
(4) What is the legal justification of all the above decisions by the institute?
