Subject: Information under RTI Act.
Sir,
School of Open Learning, University of Delhi is a well reputed organisation of India. It is providing quality education through distant learning. Millions of students get benefited from this School. There seems to be a procedural lapse. While raising demand for examination it prefers demand draft of any branch of SBI only. In such situation students have to rush SBI only. Compelling this condition parents of many students have to get DD from SBI, though they are having account in some other bank. It is understood that SOL is accepting demand drafts other than SBI also. If so then this information should also be given in demand letters.
In such a situation kindly provide me the following information under RTI Act.
1. “Does School of Open Learning” is accepting demand drafts from students drawn on any scheduled bank towards demand.
2. If yes, then why in demand letter it is shown as “Student will have to pay the above amount as shown in the grand total, through Demand Draft from any branch of SBI only. The Draft should be in favour of The Executive director, SOL, University of Delhi payable at Service Branch of SBI New Delhi”.
3. If not, then justification for not accepting demand draft from any scheduled bank.
4. Copy of Order showing requirement of demand draft for in favor of “The Executive director, SOL, University of Delhi payable at Service Branch of SBI New Delhi”.

Just FYI ..
I am not able to read all the posts and comments in details, these days .. just bcos that , I finally have to sleep atleast 4 hours a days and do some office work for 8 hours during day time (only about 10 hours to work on this, excluding the other lunch/dinner etc. time)
Once a conclusion is taken on this, can u just update this post on what is the final decision .. .
Do we move it to Drafted RTI/Non RTI categor etc ?
I will accordingly do it (since I get all the emails (100′s every day) of these posts ..

This RTI Application has been drafted by us.It is now ready to file.
However we do not think that filing this RTI Application will lead to any threat or harassment to the applicant.We are facing a severe crunch of volunteers and are currently overburdened with other applications of the sort which might lead to harassment of the applicant.As it is our duty to cater to their cause beforehand, hence there might significant delay in filing this application.We hence request the original RTI requester to file this RTI Application himself/herself.
