• Consider using RTI Nation or PORTAL FOR PUBLIC GRIEVANCES of the Government of India if you don’t need anonymity and RTI India for general RTI related queries: This will reduce our workload and allow us to focus on helping more whistle blowers avoid victimisation by filing Anonymous RTI Applications.
  • Use RTI Anonymous sparingly: Although we want you to use RTI Anonymous even at the slightest requirement for anonymous expose, we do get a lot of requests for information which is readily available in the public domain or which don’t fall under the purview of the RTI Act. This consumes our time and energy and reduces the number of RTI’s that we can cater to. Thus we request you to thoroughly research the topic yourself before submitting your RTI on RTI Anonymous (RTIA). In case doubts still remain, we are of course always there to resolve them.
  • Study Filed RTI’s: All our Filed RTI’s are available here: FILED RTI’s . Please study them extensively and make your RTI stronger before submitting it on RTI Anonymous (RTIA).
  • Templates of Various kinds of RTI : Courtesy of the kabir orgn –  RTI Templates
  • Read this Reference Document created by RTI Anonymous:  RTI Filing Procedure : Complete Reference
  • Write the Department and Address to which the RTI is to be sent: This would reduce a lot of our work. The Address can be as vague as address of a building which has an office of the Department. If we know the Department, knowing the name of the Public Information Officer isn’t necessary.
  • Minimal Use of Short Forms: Short Forms confuse us and give an opportunity to the Government to refuse information under the pretext of misunderstanding of the Short Form.
  • Spend sufficient time drafting the RTI: You need to be absolutely unambiguous in your RTI. So, be very careful and spend enough time drafting each RTI.

NOTE: Whatever you are unable to do even after trying, we are of course there to do it.
