We both husband and wife are a central govt employee. I am working at a Public Sector Under taking,Under Ministry of Petrolium and My wife is working at Kedriya Vidyalaya Sagathan and both Posted at same Location and staying at a rented accomodation.I am getting HRA along with my salary based on my basic salary.But my wife was not allow to draw the HRA by the KVS .My question is HRA is a part of salary.Under which central govt rule KVS stopped HRA to my wife.

Dear sir, The position of Rules applicable in such cases is that if one of the spouses is allotted accommodation by their employer, then both the husband and wife are not eligible to draw the HRA from their employer. But in the present case, since both the husband and wife are staying in a rented accommodation, both are eligible to draw the HRA from their respective employers. You may ask your employer the reason and the authority for not giving the HRA.

Mr.clean system, Iam not the complainant.Iam suggesting to the complainant to approach the KVS ie.,his wife’s employer with an RTI appln to get the copy of the orders of competent authority denying her the HRA as she nor her spouse is provided with a Govt accommodation. As per Central Govt rules, HRA to one of the spouse is denied only when one of the spouses is provided with Govt accommodation.
Sorry, there is a typographical error in what is made out be me as above. I wanted to say that as per the Central Govt rules, one of the spouses is denied the HRA when the other spouse is provided the Govt accommodation. Since no Govt accommodation is provided to either of them, both are eligible to draw HRA. Action of KVS in denying HRA to his wife is not correct.

What is the difference between Major panelty,Minor Panelty and Censure Panelty and what will be effect in regard to his salary in the Govt.deptt.Please let me know the pointwise reply as I am loosing very much after imposition of Panelty of Censure in my salary/Pay scale etc.

Following are the point wise reply.
1) We both were posted at bathinda and we both were getting hra from our respective organisation.
2)we both had been transfered to Dibrugarh Assam and staying in a rented accomodation.
3)I am getting HRA but my wife was denied to draw HRA by AFS Mohanbari,KVS from her date of joining at kvs mohanbari, Dibrugarh,Assam.
4) My name is Indrajit Neog and working with EIL(a PSU) posted at BCPL project,Dibrugarh.

your wife should get. refer the RTI on SAIL Maharatna Steel PSU, where both wife and husbnad are getting thousands of rupees HRA. kindly refer this and get HRA or file a petition in court. This country had funny rules such show me the man i will show the rules.
i am working as civilian clerk (LDC)in army office in goa from June 2012. my office is not granting me HRA as my mother used to work in army auditors residence (officer quarter is govt accommodation)such as house hold work as cooking. since my mother used to work in officers house they had provided with servant quarters due to the work rendered by mother. we all family used to stay in the quarter. my mother is not a govt servant neither my father. Because of this servant quarter my office has not granted me HRA since beginning. kindly clarify whether i am eligible for HRA or not for the period stayed in it. recently this month on-wards i have shifted to a rented house.
your early suggestion is requested.
