Chemical companies releasing hazardous gases around midnight

http://mpcb.gov.in/citizenchart/righttoinform.php

Dear Representatives,

I want to complain about the gas that is released by the chemical companies in Navi Mumbai.

These chemical companies are releasing gas around midnight. We don’t know what gas is this and how hazardous these gases can be but it makes us feel suffocating at times. I feel that the chemical companies are corrupting the government air pollution control authorities. Once we tried to register complain to these agency online but the form provided was not accepting our application at all. It seemed as if the site itself was not working properly.

I would request you to get the information about the chemical companies that are releasing any hazardous gases, degree of how hazardous gases do they release, the date and time when any hazardous gas was released, the step taken by the authority to punish such companies and steps designed to be taken to make sure such incidents don’t take place.

Kindly take consideartion of my request and help me for the same,
Faithfully with Regards,

    Sir
You need to provide us more information about what chemical companies are you referring to ?
Through RTI we can try to file an application to the concerned Industries Ministry asking certain documents and information against these specific companies

    Dear Anand,

I’m living in Sanpada, Navi Mumbai and I can smell some chemical that is suffocating, but as I’m not from chemical background, I’m not sure of the chemical that is released and disturbing us.

Can you guide me to know the details about it ? I’ll try to follow and get necessary details about it.

    Regards,

If you feel that the area around you is polluted you can always file a complaint with Pollution control board of that district..

As you have chosen the route of RTI, you have to be more specific on what to ask..

I suggest you do some ground work.

First identify the culprit factory that emits the ( may be toxic ) gas.

Then file a RTI thru RTI-A, in which we can ask for certain documents which will ring a bell to all officers and they MAY take steps to solve the problem

Please file multiple complain on Central govt. site http://pgportal.gov.in/Grievance.aspx under ministry of environment and forest and also on Ministry of Health and family welfare, giving more specific details about area, if possible name of such companies which u think might be culprit. Make a complain for state govt. also on same site but response of state govt. is almost negligible. Also take the matter to media. Navi mumbai TV (NMTV) should respond to ur issue. If u need any more assistance write to me on jitu11in@hotmail.com

    Dear jeet,
File a written complaint to MPCB and cc it to MoEF,CPCB,CM’s OFFICE.Take 4 photocopies of compaint and speed post it to their addresses. Keep the photocopies of the complaint and speed post receipt. And then we can file RTI seeking action taken on the complaint. This is the best way we can do. i talked to someone in MPCB about your problem last week. Many industries in NAVI MUMBAI do this.
