Details of expenses made against renovation or maintenance of forts in Maharashtra
I, XXXXX , a citizen of India, request you to kindly provide following information under the Right to Information Act, for the period of year 1970 to February 2012.
1. please provide details of total expenses made against renovation or maintenance on FORTS by Government of Maharashtra from year 1970 to February 2012.
2. please provide details of schemes and new activities promised for forts by Government of Maharashtra during this period, and which all are actually started and completed.
3. How much money has been allocated for “Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Sambhaji Maharaj and Masaheb Jijau” birth and death anniversary each year.
4. How many forts are covered under this maintenance program, list them all with amount used each year with sanctioned or completed plans/projects.
5. List separately, Sepulcher and statues of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Sambhaji Maharaj, Masaheb Jijau and Maratha Soilders made by Government of Maharashtra with total money spent for creation and maintenance.
6. Please provide full details of funds received by your department from the Central Government during year 1970 to February 2012.
7. Please provide full details of funds received by your department as Charity from People/Businessmen and Trusts during year 1970 to February 2012.

This is a nicely drafted RI Application.
It would be very nice, if you can please take the pains of providing us the exact details of the PIO (Address, name etc.) , so that we can move this to the Drafted Category
RTI has become a great boon to our society. But some where i feel sad of the present scenario the way this act is been used by people. I have work with a govt . dept for few years and i know the in some dept information is not provided to the applicant … but there are good PIO also who are always careful about their work and know their work best. but this act is some times used to harass the POI of blackmail people. if a person is drafting such a detailed application it means he is educated enough and knows which is a wright department to which this application has to be made.. the application clearly shows that it is concerned with the archeology dept. but what an apathy without going to the truth people make statement and file fake applications of other peoples name.The POI is always treated as a criminal … did the forum any time think about it or they to are happy in the harassment……..this forum should educated people about the act … and not cause nuisance in life of citizen and other people

my friend has given some useful information,
Some Forts are under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), under the Ministry of Culture of the Central Government. The ASI has 2 Circles in Maharashtra, i.e. Mumbai and Aurangabad. Lists of all protected monuments in these Circles is available on their Website. Addresses of the concerned officials are also available on the Website .
he said, You will have to write separate applications to the concerned Circles for obtaining information relating to conservation / protection of the Forts under their respective jurisdiction. It will be better to contact them informally and try to unmderstand the information which they have. If you make an application for info. which is not available on their records, the application will be answered accordinly and your efforts wil be wasted.
in addition, he replies…it is wise to first speak informally to the concerned Department, find out as to what information it has, the address of the concened field level office which maintains the records and information, etc.. Therteaftert make a formal Application under the RTI Act.
I think, MTDC provides funds to ASI to carry out restoration conservation activities at monuments which MTDC wants to develop as tourism centres.

First of all, thank you very much for taking the pain of finding so much information.
Since this falls under the MTDC, i would file this RTI to the MTDC directly.
As per the RTI Act 2005, it is the responsibility of the PIO, to forward this to the correct department.
The other point, that you mention of contacting them informally, RTI anonymous is run by people all over the world (I live in the USA) and India. This is a platform, which ensures anonymity to the applicant , by filing RTI’s from other Indian states.
