How to get your problem solved / addressed in any Govt Office ?

** THIS IS NOT A RTI APPLICATION, but a tricky way of approach to get things done in any govt office.

Many people always wonder how to complain/report a deviation or violation about a particular incident or even a particular officer. Even if they decide to complaint/report they go and meet a manager/senior officer, who may perform some drama ( as if he is going to take action tomorrow), but actually he will just forget about everything on the same day.

Some people go one step further and give a written complaint to senior officer. If the written complaint is given in-person you may see the same kind of performance(acting) and the officer may promise that things will be taken care immediately, but in reality most your complaints will go to thrash bin..

Some people prefer to send the written complaint to such senior officer by Regd Post / Speed post. The officer who receives the complaint first glance through the from address, and then quickly glance through the body of letter and if nothing is of his interest he will throw it away into some pile of papers and it will eventually go into ocean of papers, and never reach surface.

Here are some simple things that you need to do to make your complaint more effective, and get the problems solved.

1) Send all your complaints to Head of that Office by Regd. Post with ACK . This will ensure that your complaint gets a file number or inward number.

2) If possible send a copy of your complaint to Registrar of Ministry of that department to which the office comes under.

3) Wait for 3 weeks ( Any complaint received in any Govt. Office should be acted upon with in 15 days. Either they have to transfer the complaint to concerned officer or initiate an investigation on the complaint received )

4) Now write a RTI application to Ministry of that department asking for File Number/Inward Number, Progress made, List of officers who received this complaint for action. List of officers with whom this complaint is currently pending with..

5) The PIO of Ministry of that Dept. will transfer the RTI Application to that respective office which actually received the complaint.

6) Now the Officer(s) will search for your complaint, they will even dig the thrash bin.

7) Before you get the reply your problem may be solved

8) This technique is not effective for exposing corrupts ( as they would be backed by politicians ) .. This is only for getting things done like delay of passport, delay of ration card, delay of certificates from MCD, etc
