Events conducted by Government of Karnataka
Government of Karnataka, under various department has been conducting events using public money. Though GOK calls for bidders for conducting events, but most of the time the bidders are disqualified because the terms and conditions of the tender are laid to suit the current event manager. It has been observed that most of the events conducted by GOK has only one event manager. The events like Bangalore Bio, Bangalore IT, Bangalore Nano, Global Investors Meet, Security Summit are conducted by only one event manager. It seems that there is a great nexus between the Event Manager and bureaucrats from concerned departments from Govt. of Karnataka. A white paper is needed under the following heads:
- What is the Govt. spending on these event.
- What is the net return of government spending on these event
- Who are the industry beneficiaries
- How many IT, BT and other industries were benefited.
- Why only one event manager is conducting all the events, as if there is no one in the event managers in the whole country,
Can we get the real picture of this nexus between the Government and the Event Manager.

were successful bidders & project cost estmtd?
2. At what stage of operation/commission stage, each project is as of date.
3. What is the level of output ( in Rs.) in
Man-power engagement,Govt. facilities offered Vs utilisation Power, Land, Water at Concessational rate for first 5-year period.
4. How much (Revenus) the Govt. of Karnataka
has receveied or earned, Is this a Profit
earning project for Karnataka’s Development or beneficiary project help-few Individual/s (Politician/s Industrialists, NRI’s having
Money Hoarded outside India & convert Black
to white & avail all Concessions at Cost of
Nation’s Economy Struggle)
5 What’s the Profit & Loos Report of GIM of
Previous meet, so that the same Error is not
repeated again.

RTI needs to be re-framed as it gives enough room to PIO to escape the answers and filed by atleast 3 volunteers(my opinion) from differnt parts of india
Like for q.1) Give list of event for which expenditure is seeked
q2) What kind of return applicant want to know, monetary gains, participation or public realtions. Few things like public relations cannnot be quanitified. So question need to be reframed as per need of applicant.
Q,4) ”benefitted” cannot be quanitified
