Food adulteration

I think the public information officer is DEPUTY SECRETARY TO GOVERNMENT (MEDICAL EDUCATION) HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE DEPARTMENT SECRETARIAT, CHENNAI-9

In a tamil newspaper (Dinamalar, Madurai  edition) published on 7th feb. 2012, a food adulteration case was reported. As per the report, an inspection was carried out by food quality control officers, and tea powder adulterated with chemicals was seized. Preliminary tests done by the officers showed that the chemical colouring agents were added and samples were sent to further testing & analysis.

I would like to get the following details regarding this case:

1)      Whether the collected samples were sent for further testing & analysis?

2)      Where further testing & analysis were done?

3)      What type of tests & analysis were done to find out the food adulteration?

4)      What is the outcome of these results?

5)      What further action has been taken based on the test results?
