Towing contractors and staff of Mumbai Traffic police.
Dear Sir, I wish to know the following:
1. How is the allotment done for towing contractors and towing vehicles. What is the criteria of allotment.
2. How many contractors have been allotted and the number of vehicle put into the service.
3. Since it falls under the services act are the contractors registered under the ” Service Tax act” if yes are they filing their Service Tax due. If no why ?,
4. Are the contractors paying the due ”SERVICE TAX ‘ on the income of collection made by them.
5. Are the contractor also paying ” INCOME TAX ” and filing the INCOME TAX return for the same.
6. Are the authorities in charge check for the above record of the contractors. If no why?
7. The employees who carry out towing physically are registered employees and all are registered with Employment act and are the paid Daily wages are per ” Labour Act” and a record kept for their employment.
8. What is the percentage ratio of Four wheeler ( including Cars & Trucks ) and Two wheelers that have been towed by the Traffic Deaprtment.
9. What is the revenue generated in the last five years of Parking offence collected in the past 5 years.
10. What is the percentage paid to the Towing contractors.
11. The vehicles do not look in good condition. Is the authority checking Fitness of these vehicles. If yes then why do thewe vehicles look worn out and unmaintained.
12. List of contractors with their names and addresses and place of Domicle.
