Unauthorised use of government vehicles

I would like to have the following information on the vehicles, departmental and hired, being used by the department.

1.  Number of vehicles provided by the government and number of vehicles hired from private parties

2.  Number of vehicles allowed to have red beacon lights and their registration numbers.

3.  Number of officers provided with transport facility for drop and pick up from home.  Number of vehicles used for the said purpose.

    Iam filing this request under Sn.6 of the RTI Act 2005. Pl furnish the following information. An IPO for Rs.10/- towords the fees as required under the rules is enclosed.
    1. Number of sanctioned posts of Drivers for Bangalore Division.
    2 Number of drivers on role.
    3. Number of Departmantal vehicles available in the Division. A list may be provided.
    4.Number of vehicles out of the nmber indicated at 3 having Beacon lights with their Registration numbers.
    5.Number of private vehicles the Dept is hiring in a month (for one year from April 2010)and the cost of hiring.
    6. Number of officers being provided with residence pickup and drop with details of ranks of officers.

    Now that the reply is received, the person who sought the information under RTI – Mr.Shanker -
    should be able to come out with his views as to how were the Departmental people were misusing the Govt. vehicles.
