Subject: Non-clarification by DEC on Technical courses offered by KSOU.

Questions:

1)      From the website of Distance Education Council, it is learnt that, show cause notice has been issued to Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) on offering Technical courses like Diploma/ B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. etc. This does not clarify whether the technical courses being offered by KSOU have been disapproved by DEC or not. The website simply shows the objection of DEC only, which does not clearly mean disapproval of the above courses which misguides the students. Why DEC has not clearly disapproved the above courses being offered by KSOU?

2)      What action is being taken by DEC on KSOU as it is still offering the above courses through its various study centres throughout theIndia?

3)      What action is being taken by DEC for the students who have enrolled for the above technical courses of KSOU?

4)      It is learnt that DEC has stated that the Associate Membership Programme being offered by Institution of Civil Engineers (India) does not come under the purview of DEC, whereas this programme is run truly on distance mode. Whether DEC has checked the ground reality of the mode of offering of this programme to the students?
