Duty-off, for doctors working in Kerala Health Services
Sir,
I would like to know the following details regarding working hours of doctors, working in the Kerala Government Health Services coming under the Directorate of Health Services, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala
(1) How many hours per week and hours in a month is a doctor supposed to work in a hospital, which provides inpatient services.
(2) Is the doctor eligible for Duty off, after working continuously in the day, evening and night in the hospital ie from 9am to next day 9am
(3) Like the paramedical staff can doctors avail duty off the next day after being on duty the previous night?
(4) Do doctors working in hospitals where the sanctioned strength of doctors is below the required norms to provide Casualty Services; have to provide services like (a)attend Medico-legal Cases and write Wound Certificate (b) certify Certificate of Drunkenness (c) See Emergency cases coming to the hospital after OP hours etc , if there are no Casualty Services
(5)For those doctors working in hospitals where the sanctioned strength of doctors is below the required norms to provide Casualty Services; but are providing services like (a)attending Medico-legal Cases (b) certifying Certificate of Drunkenness (c) providing emergency services to patients coming to the hospital after OP hours, are they eligible for duty off after working for 12 0r 24 hours.
