Sir,

This is to request you to kindly provide the following information along with copies of necessary supporting official documents.

 

  1. Reference: UGC Regulation on Minimum Qualification for appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measure for maintenance of standards in Higher Education 2010 (No. F. 3-1/2009 dated 30 June, 2010.
  2. Detail of information desired: In the above mentioned reference for the category 4.4.6.1 : Minimum Qualification for Appointment of Teaching Faculty in University and Colleges- Engineering and Technology Discipline it is mentioned that for the post of Assistant Professor the minimum qualification required is First Class Master’s Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering (Engg.) & Technology (Tech).where as for the post of Professor the minimum qualification required is A Ph.D. Degree with First Class at Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the appropriate branch of Engg., & Tech., and experience of ten years in teaching, research and / or industry, out of which at least five years at the level of Assistant Professor Reader or equivalent grade.

With reference to the above kindly clarify the following points along with the justification

 

  1. Which Branch of Engineering at B.E/B.Tech and M.E/ M.Tech can be considered appropriate and why for the Post of Professor in Computer Science and Engineering.
  2. For the post of Professor it is mentioned that 10 years Teaching experience is required. Whether it means than 10 years teaching experience in any branch is countable or the teaching experience should be in appropriate branch of Engineering. Please clarify with appropriate justification. Whether it means that a person having 10 years teaching experience in any branch of engineering such as civil, mechanical, minning,  electrical, electronics etc is eligible to be professor in computer science and engineering and if so how it justifies and assures the teaching quality of such person as professor in computer science and engineering. Kindly clarify.
  3. Whether the B.E/B.Tech degree is not atall  required for the post of Assistant Professor. If so why.
  4. Why B.E/B.Tech in appropriate branch of Engineering is not required for the post of Assistant Professor. Kindly justify if true.
  5. At Assistant Professor Level First Class at Masters level is required but for the post of Associate Professor and Professor First class is required either at B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.tech level. Kindly justify how it will assure academic quality.
  6. For the post of Associate Professor and Professor whether the B.E/B.Tech and M.E/M.Tech both are required in appropriate branch of Engineering or either B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech (i.e. any one of it) is required in the appropriate branch of Engineering. If so kindly justify how it will help in assuring academic quality.
