Cancelling my offer letter
Hello Sir,
I gave the SAIL(Steel Authority of India Limited) Management Trainee exam 2011 the last year.In the form I filled my category as OBC( creamy layer).I qualified the written exam and gave my interview.During the interview, the person who was checking my documents told me that since you have applied as OBC (creamy layer) you will be treated as General candidate and I agreed with it(It is obvious because OBC(creamy layer) candidates are not provided any benefits of reservations and treated as General candidate).
Result of interview was out on April 1, 2012 and I was selected.They provided me the hard copy of offer letter mentioning the place and date of reporting.But they mentioned my category as just OBC. When I went for reporting, they told me that you have to provide the OBC(Non creamy layer) certificate as your category written on offer letter is OBC.I told them that I applied as OBC creamy layer candidate and how can I provide a non-creamy layer certificate.They admitted that it was their mistake that they included my name in OBC(Non creamy layer) list and said “we are discussing your matter at Head Office”. And after 1 day they told me that we checked your marks and you are not clearing the General cutoff marks so your joining is not possible.
I want to file an RTI for this matter asking:
1) My total marks
2) Cutoff mark of General category list

We do not think that filing this RTI Application will cause victimization of the applicant. We are facing a severe crunch of volunteers and are currently overburdened with other applications of the sort which might cause harassment of the applicant. As it is our duty to cater to their cause first, there might be significant delay in filing this RTI. So, we request you to file it yourself.
If you still feel that filing this RTI may cause you harrasment please reply with your reasons.
one can see the no of RTI on SAIL and the reply to some seems to be shocking, and it is very serious in nature. This calls for serious investigation considering all RTI querries as complaints in this gaint maharatna PSU unit by Govt. A total revamp is essential in this PSU.
