Construction of building in Charkop sec -2, mumbai

I want to know, whether any BMC/MMRDA/ CRZ norms have been violated / omitted/ overlooked in granting permission for construction of a building in sector -2, Charkop, Kandivali-west, Mumbai.

I have reasons to suspect because, prior to building’s construction, that area had a full fledged lake. During heavy rainy days, it was supposed to collect water thereby protecting nearby areas from flooding.

In a city, still suffering from aftershocks of 26/11, I fail to understand, how can permission be given by concerned authorities to cover up a lake and construct building over there. I am curious to know the nexus of criminals and corrupt babus which led to this.

 

Also, note that all GPS/ maps of India/google earth etc still shows this area as a lake/water body.

 

The location of this under construction building is:

Behind Mahesh Tower; Plot no-48, RDP-II, Sector-2, Charkop. Kandivali (W). Mumbai- 400067.

    This issue appears to be important. My suggestion is to ask from BMC copies of all the clearances/permissions given to this site for construction. If other team members have any suggestions please reply, after that I will draft an application for this.

      Dear AKP,

      Please ask about the details of all govt agencies which are stakeholders for this land or nodal authorities for this building in your RTI Application. Ask for copies of all clearances from all of these agencies.

    Anand, now the action is on AKP Sir..he has to draft RTI for this and get the suggestions from team member for this..

    In my opinion, this request should be moved to Unprocessed RTI section. Please revert.
