Time period: The whole of the two projects are spaced between 2005-2012 (presently ongoing)
I wanted some information on the Save Musi Campaign. I know it is sponsored 70 percent by the Central Government, so I can do it online as an NRI. According to the Abatement of Pollution in Musi project, 335 Crores were to be used to construct 4 Sewage Treatment Plants across Musi.
- I would like to know how the 335 Crore rupees were planned to be spent, how much of the money has already been spent and on what. I want copies of all documents related to the accounts of the 335 Crore rupees like the balance sheet, and all transaction costs
One of the Sewage Treatment plant, the one in Attapur was the reason the whole project was delayed.
- Please provide me details as to the reason for the delay in completion of the STP in Attapur. What are the delays and what is being done to address them
- Give me copies of documents pertaining to the details on the work that is being done to clear all the encroachments on the required land and why it is taking so long, how the 49 Crore rupees sanctioned for this purpose are being used
- I read in the media that more STPs are now required as the dumping of sewage has increased. Please provide me with the copies of documents which made you decide that having 4 STPs were enough for the city and the names and designations of all the officials who were involved in this faulty estimate
Out of the 44 Crore rupees sanctioned for the Musi Revitalization scheme, 20 Crore rupees were already told to have been spent on various activities in the press.
- Again, I would like copy of documents pertaining to all the transaction details and balance sheets of the 20 Crore rupees like in case of the AAPM project
- How much longer will these two Musi projects take, please give a final date of completion of the project, I will ask additional information upon completion of the project on this date. Please let me know when it is done
- Finally, I would like copy of the results done on the samples of the Musi river water before and after all this money has been spent
Hi, I joined RTI anonymous today and this is my first RTI application. I realized while writing it that I did a clumsy job and wasn’t specific on what I wanted. I just want to see how it shapes up finally and learn from the experience.
I basically wanted to know everything wrong with the Musi project and why even after 6 years of constant poring in of money and effort from the government, the river still is a mess.
