Kerala government has issued a directive to release 138 nos of prisoners as part of the Kerala Day Celebration. This includes former kerala minister Balakrishna Pilla who has been sentenced for 1 year imprisonment by the Suprem Court of India being found guilty in Idamalayar Corruption case. I would like to know the criteria used to select the prisoners and the scientific/logical basis of the criteria. Also a confirmation that only 138 prisoners fall under the criteria set by the government.

    Dear Sir/Ma’am,

Can you please provide the link attached in English/Hindi as it is present is local language. So I am not able to look into the matter completely. Also provide more information about the time period you are talking about and other related details. Once, you will update these details, we’ll draft an RTI for the same and file it accordingly.

Does this request need anonymity. I feel that the requestor can file the RTI himself for this and it does not warrant any anonymity

        Hi Team,

Thanks for the response. However, the Opposition Leader of Kerala Legislative assembly has already filed a petition against the release in the Supreme Court and the court is hearing the same on 9 December 2011.

        Thanks,

        joby

    Based on Mr. Joby’s request,
I would say its better to wait for the SC’s decision and there is nothing an RTI can do here
