Banned Electric Rickshaws consuming electricity in Delhi
There are about 10000 banned Electric Rickshaws plying in the National Terrotory of Delhi and they consume about 50,000 units of electricity daily. These rickshaws were banned on 9 Dec 2012 vide advertisement by the Transport Department of Delhi.
Through the RTI:
1. I wish to know the arrangement with the rickshaw drivers for permission to charge these banned vehicles- please provide a copyof the permission.
2. I wish to know the permission given to Delhi based traders, showroom owners, garages, manufacturers to use electricity to make , sell, and repair , and charge these banned vehicles- please provide a copy of the permission.
