My sons education

My son is studying at SVPISTM under Ministry of Textiles, Government of INDIA. They are an autonomous institute under ministry of textiles. They every year advertise that their courses are approved by AICTE, on which my son joined there. But after enquiry it is found that the Institute has no approval as of now for any courses and for the new Retail management programme there is no approval at all. After paying all this fees by all the students nothing is hapenning. No one is asking this because they are afraid of back lash. Also they dont have anything as stepulated by AICTE. All their faculty and staff are on contract. We are really worried about the future of our wards. Kindly do something. help us. We cannot approach ourself as it will affect our sons career. Please do the needful.

You cannot stay anonymous in this case. All parents should come together and make an official complaint to AICTE. Anyway, your son’s career is going to be affected as the institute is not recognised – so what are you afraid of? Citizens must fight their own battles and you have a strong case.

    1. Relax, it is an approved instituition for
    PGDM-Textile/Apparel/Home textile Management.
I hope your son is enrolled for one of these courses.

    mr. ramlela,
you are relieved, now if you raise questions about PGDM Retail Management. Can u please send one RTI application to AICTE about this and help other students and parents and make them happy.

Yes as Bimalji has suggested do go ahead and file the RTI application so that you have evidence in black and white that the retail management course does not come under AICTE. Thereafter you can seek legal intervention too. I agree that if as a lone parent takes up this issue with the college, it could be a problem but if all parents raise their voice together the college will have to take note. Many such cases have been successful in Pune, the abode of education. do think about it – like i said earlier, citizens must fight their own battles – each one of us must become Anna. Good luck
