Delhi Police/Delhi Traffic Police
Please add/delete things to the draft. Idea is to let the Delhi Police enforce laws which already exist. When reply received, please forward to as many TV and news channels as possible to put pressure on the system to enforce rule of law. If positive response, similar RTIs can be used for other issues with Delhi Police as well as departments of other cities.
Can Delhi Traffic Police/Delhi Police give permission to car accessories shops, resale car shops, building material suppliers, auto repair shops, bus transporters, flower shops, other shop owners……to use government land/roads/by lanes for their business?
If yes, what is the procedure?
If not, what is the penalty/punishment if businessmen do not comply?
What is the penalty/punishment if businessmen repeat the same?
How many such penalties have been levied on businessmen in the year 2010? Please give full details, name of business man, address of the shop, etc.
Which police officer(s) are accountable if such activities are going on?
What penalty/punishment can police officer(s) face on failure to check these activities?
Since these things do not happen in concealed manner but are happening openly and greatly impede the traffic movement, how many police officer(s) were penalized in the 2010 and what does the department plan to curb such activities? Please give full details, name of officers, penalty, etc.
What has the police department to do with these shops? It is for the Municipal Corporation Delhi to remove illegal encroachments. Please give specific locality/road/footpath and re-draft your query

The query does not relate to illegal constructions on government land. It relates to people using roads for business activity, like car accessories shops, auto repair shops, building material suppliers, …..thereby obstructing traffic and causing inconvenience. The best I know its the police that these pay monthly or whatever one may say for such activity. When one is doing some construction or something, police comes for their due because one is using public land for storing bricks, preparing mortar, etc. More so, during Commonwealth Games, it was Delhi Police who asked all the rehdi/pattriwalas/khomchewalas to close their shops for few days and we saw no rehdi/pattriwalas/khomchewalas during those days in certain areas.
