Novice first time minister Shobha Karandlaje embarked on a spending spree soon after taking over the utterly corrupt rotten FCS department.

The exercise of weeding out bogus ration cards issued by her department. Expanded to weeding out illegal gas connections. By postfacto collection of unrelated data  retrospectively extrapolating it illegally, arbitrarily, without legal sanction and justice or fairplay.
It was a monumental arm twisting which must have produced huge commissions on the tenders for collecting, collating,updating and uploading the largely irrelevant data.
This appears to be another typical BJP money spinnning exercise we are now so familiar with.
Her claim that 30 lakhs are illegal connections out of 75 lakhs in the state (DH 26 sep 2011). But department statistics show 50 percent or more are legal! Is she beyond the CM’s authority and assurance?
It seems to be designed to justify the huge waste of money of detecting literally few thousand illegal connections.
That too after CM sadananda gowda assured the citizens

    1 what was the totAl amount of the contract for data collection, processing and upload for the illegal ration cards/ lpg connections announced by shobha karandlaje minister for food and civil supplies karnataka on jan 18 2011 terminated abruptly by cm sadananda gowda few dAys ago?
    2 what were the company/ companies that were awarded these contracts?

    3 how many lpg connections were confirmed bogus after physical verification of the addresses of the 75 lakh connections?
