Fees utilization details at NITIE

Hi ,

I would like to file a RTI for the financial break up of our fees for MBA at NITIE,powai , Mumbai . The fee structure is given in this link.

The queries is for PGDIM batch of 2011-2013

The following are the questions that I need to ask :

Project and Placement facilities*

e) NITIE Alumni Association (Membership and contribution)

Though we are charged but we have never seen the money been utilized.

1)Course material charges have been taken around 12.5k every year, but what material has been provided to students for the same?

2)Why is money been charged every year for alumni association and what has been the usage of the same? Is the membership renewed every year for the same ? is it been charged to alumni also? What expenditure is incurred against this fees?

3)For what purposes has the money for placement facilities been utilized?

4) What is the annual expenditure of placement cell with breakup for each section?

5) Who pays for the brochures printed for the final placements as well as the summer internship?Support with bills for the same.

6) How are the resumes printed during the placement process and who incurs the cost for the same ? What costs have been incurred by the placement office for printing of resumes for placements of students?

7) How much is charged per student placed with a company and how much has been collected for the last year placements? What is done with that money?

8) How much money rests with the placement cell of the institute reserved for placement related activities?

The reason I am asking for this information is that though the students are charged for all these facilities yet the institute does not provide them. This is then done by the students themselves by pooling in money which we are forced to pay as the institute is not paying for these facilities specially related to placement activities.

Can someone please help me on how to proceed with this?

    Sign in the name of ‘Ankit srivastava, enclose an unaddressed Postal Order worth Rs. 10 as RTI Fees and send the RTI through Speed Post to the Public Information Officer.
    Please do Leave a Reply on this web page with the Speed Post Consignment number to help us to send the reply directly to you via Email when we get it from the Public Information Officer.
    In case you are unable to Post the RTI Application yourself, please Leave a Reply on this web page and the RTI Anonymous Team will Post it. However, please note that significant delay may occur before it is Posted (because we are facing a severe volunteer crunch) which will depend upon our perception of the public good happening through this RTI compared to others.

    Our ultimate aim by introducing this new reform is to make this a ‘’community owned project’’ rather than our own endeavor for bringing about transparency in administration.
    We will be happy if other people volunteer to file RTI Application as it will be the first step towards our objective.

    Hi,
    where is the final template of the RTI ? Are you going to submit it as is ?
    If i send it across from ankit shrivastava name , is it traceable back to me?

    @Anujb,
    Firstly, nobody will ever come to know about you if you file this as ANKIT SRIVASTAVA, reply will come to IIT BOMBAY and i will upload it here.

    Regarding final template the questions you have framed above are good enough to file in RTI application.
